Playing Catch Up

I know we're on to the Christmas season already, but I still haven't shared my Thanksgiving pictures with you!!! We had a great time with my family in San Antonio. My Grandma even came in from Virginia to be with us!

Here is the playground thing that my bro fell off (the red roof!!!)

While we now know he has a fractured sinus (who knew you could even do that??) we are thanking God that he didn't hurt himself worse.

Two turkeys... the one on the left weighed more!

Charlie made some delicious trail mix to snack on.

Playing at the park!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Boys will be Boys

We arrived in San Antonio yesterday evening to spend the week with my family. Just before leaving, I called my mom and she said she was taking my brother to the hospital. Alarmed for my brother's sake and worried she was going to tell me he had something contagious and that we wouldn't be able to come, she said... "Well, its not contagious, but Charlie already has it... its called a Y chromosome."

You see, my 15 year old brother, on his first day of Thanksgiving vacation, decided to show his "parkouring" skills to my mom and grandma at the park. For those of you (like me) wondering what parkouring is, it is also known as "freestyle running." For those of you (like me) still wondering what this is, click this link for a little video of some guys parkouring.

Charlie and I had a long talk on the way here about never doing anything that dangerous or *coughstupidcough*. Parkouring is only for you if your name is James Bond, Jason Bourne, or even Paul Hamm. Otherwise, just do regular running.

No, he doesn't have marshmallows in his mouth. It's just that swollen.

Happy Thanksgiving!

No time for bloggin'

After our Alabama/Georgia trip to visit some of my family, we had a mere four days at home (spent helping our friends move and doing laundry!) and then packed up the suitcases again and headed to Spring, TX. I know, not too far, but still required a FULL car of suitcases, stroller, bouncer, dog, pack 'n play, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture! We spent a fun-filled four days with Paul's mom's side of the family, swimming and eating, eating and swimming. I think I'm gaining back all my baby weight. :P Pictures from that family reunion will probably be my next post...

THEN as if that weren't enough time of living out of a suitcase and for Charlie to be completely off schedule and waking up three times a night... Charlie and I headed out Monday morning to San Antonio to visit my family! Our first road trip with just me and him, but he did great, only waking up once when I ran with him into Buckee's to use the restroom... by the way if you have never been to Buckee's, they really DO have the CLEANEST bathrooms around and I held it for about 45 minutes just so I could go there.... well worth it.

My dad was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel yesterday and we came in for his promotion ceremony and reception. It was so great and there were tons of people all so proud. Dad could not have been happier to have his only (albeit noisy) grandson there to show off to all his co-workers that have been hearing about him for a year now!

Four Generations

Charlie is the first great grandchild for both of my grandma's and oh how they loved him! Unfortunately, both of my grandfathers have passed away, but I am so thankful I was able to take these pictures of four generations!
By the way... we had a fun day of swimming with the other side of the family today! Check out Carly's blog for a few pics of some cute babies...

Georgia Trip

And now... even more pictures! This time from the Georgia portion of our trip. We stayed at my uncle's lake house and went boating, tubing, and even had a bonfire on the beach! My grandma turned 76 while we were there and we had a great time celebrating. I even got to see my friend Lacey with her son Gavin again, since they only lived about 45 minutes away!

Alabama Trip

We had such a fantastic time on our trip! It was so great seeing all of our family and having them meet Charlie! Here are some of my favorite pics from the part of the trip spent in Alabama with my mom's side of the family...

It has already begun...

Charlie had a wonderful time last week with his Grandma and Uncle Andrew. They came in to keep him while I went to my last week of work... as you can see, Charlie loves his Uncle Andrew, who is already teaching him everything there is to know about video games and Mario Kart. I knew that boys were into that kind of thing... but seriously, already??? :)
Oh well, baby, learn those spatial skills early!!! I can't keep that little Mario Kart on the road to save my life! Maybe I should have played video games a little more...

Thank You Grandma!

We just spent the most fantastic week with my mom who took such great care of all of us as I have been recovering from my C-Section. I am so blessed. She left this morning with a vote of confidence in me that we can do this without her. While right now I'm not so sure of that, it feels good to know she feels that way. I love you, Mom. Thanks for all the loads of laundry, dishes, bathroom and floor cleanings, meals, snuggles with Charlie while I napped, and support for me!

Four Years Ago

March 20, 2004

March 2005- First Anniversary in Galveston

March 2006- 2nd Anniversary in Austin
March 2007 - 3rd Anniversary in Houston

March 2008-4th Anniversary in The Woodlands

(Thanks, Carly, for loaning me a dress that actually fits!!!)

Four years ago today around 7 pm I walked down the aisle and said "I do" to a man I was so in love with. Now I am so much more in love and we are soooo close to having our first child, that honestly, it could happen today, on this day that we remember our commitment we made on this day four years ago! I love you Paul!!!! (probably won't happen today though- I think I'm just going to be pregnant for forever, really) ;)
