Friday Night Fun

Friday night we went to the Music Rebuilds concert to see Jars of Clay, Switchfoot, Robert Randolph, and Third Day. We had a great time, but realized we were old when we starting yawning around 9:30 pm and took a few breaks out in the hall because it was too loud. Haha, tons of fun though and great to get out with some friends and family and leave Charlie behind... with his wonderfully-capable-loving-and-more-than-willing-to-babysit-anytime-Nana-and-Pop!!!! Thanks Nana & Pop for the night out!!! Here are a few pics from the night...

By the way, my husband's cousin's husband knows him. :)

Soaking it all in...

I'm feeling the need just to soak in every moment right now and just enjoy everything, as our world is about to change big time! Today was so great... one last free spring break day before work on Monday. I don't have to work tomorrow, but Paul and I will be singing/playing for THREE Easter services in the morning... so today was our last day to really sleep in and then get things done.

First, Paul put up the ceiling fan in our guest room! We've had the fan in a box for about three months now but I knew I wanted it up before the baby comes... that room just gets so hot and its where my mom is going to stay when he comes.

Then, I got all kinds of laundry done, including bathroom rugs and door mats, which hardly EVER get washed around here. And I did the impossible today! You're not going to believe this, but I opened the dryer (while it was running), threw in a wet sock I had forgotten, and closed the dryer, all the while, it stayed running. I know, I know, you're thinking wow, can this day get any better??

Oh yes it can!!! Aside from all of that, we also got some much needed grocery shopping done, making a little date out of it by stopping to get Icees from the gas station first. Also, the bathrooms are now spotless, and I cleaned out our closets. I even snuck in a nap while Paul watched some golf!!! Its rare that we have days like this, and its been so nice just to be the two of us. To end it all, we took Daisy (our black lab) out to a park by the lake in our neighborhood to throw the ball for a while. It was just a great day.

Dinner at the Dufilhos

I seriously married the greatest man ever... I mean REALLY. Not only are we so in love, BUT he cooks dinner every night. No really, EVERY night! I know, I know, can you believe how lucky I got?? Especially seeing as how I was never interested in learning how to cook and the only time I ever cooked for myself (one semester in college) my main utensil (don't even know if its considered a utensil??) of choice was a George Foreman grill. I would buy a package of fresh chicken breasts, put the whole thing in the freezer, then thaw all of them out, use one, and freeze the rest again. Yeah I made myself sick once and then learned you aren't supposed to do that...oops. Who knew??!! Anyway, my knight in "shining armour" came without the sword and armour but with an apron and a rubber spatula. Ha! Here are a few pics of our fantastic dinner tonight...turkey meatloaf, sweet potato fries, and brocolli... and this is pretty much like every night around here.

(I would like for it to be known that I offer to help him almost every night and he always says no... wonder why? Also, I pretty much always do the dishes afterward, which is sometimes a pretty big job considering the culinary adventures that take place in there!!!)
