Confession...

Charlie and I are listening to Christmas music today... I just can't help myself!

Its stormy outside, so I don't really want to go out. He's playing, I'm doing some cleaning. It just seemed right! :) I've got the "Sounds of the Seasons" tv station on... I just went to it thinking, hmm I wonder if they have any Thanksgiving music... and then got hooked on the Christmas music! But, man, they must save the good stuff for the true holiday season, because so far I've heard Bette Midler's Christmas version of 'From a Distance', Mary Chapin Carpenter's 'Christmas in the City', and now its Kidz Bop's version of 'All I Want for Christmas is You'... Looks like I'll have to wait a few more weeks for Bing and Rosemary or Manheim Steamroller! Oooh here we go, Barbara Mandrell's 'I'll be Home for Christmas.' Come on, admit it, you can't wait either!!!

I love Christmas music! Matthew won't let me put my CDs in yet...but that's okay...choir and church and choir at school have been working on it since the beginning of Oct so I"m getting plenty!

bethany, you are so funny.... and funny you should mention christmas music because when i was in sur la table with carla today, there was christmas music playing......well, what i mean is that it was a jazzed up song that you've never heard, and the only thing "christmasy" about it were a few of the words, but it aggravated me that christmas music ought to sound like christmas music, by doggy!!...... at the same time, i wondered if i'm just having this thought because i'm 54 and love to "wax nostalgic" about everything most of the time?.... but i LOVE christmas music and all of the wonderful feelings it stirs up inside, the memories of things in my childhood, the really deep thoughts about that first Christmas!..... and here i was at the store with that bee-bop never-heard-of jazz, and it made me mad, dagnabbit!... but i don't have a closed mind to "new" christmas songs, because i add a little to my repertoire each year..... but they just need to sound, uh, well, you know, "Christmas-y"!........ok, sorry i vented, but i sure feel better.... kiss charlie for me!

We have a station here that is already playing nonstop Christmas music up until 12.25...a little early if you ask me! I don't want to be sick of it by Thanksgiving! But an afternoon of cleaning with it on might do me good!

We've got Christmas CDs in 4 of the 6 slots in our car. Every time we go somewhere the kids request Christmas music.

Matt even encouraged me to start thinking about decorating this weekend. (I think I love him more now.)

It's never too early.
