My New Housekeeper

I always thought having a housekeeper would be a little indulgent for a stay-at home mother of one like me. But since having our house on the market, its been a lot more work to keep the house spotless and ready to show at a moment's notice! So I finally decided to get some help...

He's an enthusiastic worker...

and gets in all those hard to reach spots...

Its a little awkward when he does his work in his underwear...

and sometimes I find him sitting down on the job...

but he's just so darn cute! So I think he's a keeper.

Long Story Short

So where have I been? I know, I know you've all been waiting, holding your breath with anticipation, right? Okay so maybe not, but here's the short(ish) version of our summer so far:

We visited some friends and their sweet little baby (doesn't Charlie look so BIG?)

We got some new landscaping in the backyard!

We spent a week with Paul's family for a family reunion. Several of the guys shaved their heads in support of Paul's Uncle who is going through chemo for cancer treatment. Before they completely shaved them, they spent a day with mohawks (just in case you were wondering about that from my last post!)
We walked in a neighborhood Fourth of July parade!

Charlie and his cousin Amelia won the costume prize for the 3 and under category in their little wagon!

Here's more from the reunion... we had a blast! We put our house on the market! We spent a full week (with the help of our parents!) cleaning and preparing our house. I had just scrubbed and touched up the paint on this window sill when this pic was taken...
And then this pic was taken... WOW that was a dirty foot! Nothing a little magic eraser can't fix! :)
Paul had his 10th High School Reunion!

Charlie got Roseola. :(

Once Charlie recovered, we went to the Children's Museum!
And finally, we spent a great weekend in San Antonio with my family.

Whew... so there it is, my "welcome back" to the blogging world. Coming up next... the Disney World video. :)

How to Have Some Indoor Fun

Well here in Texas it is just TOO HOT right now. We're talking upper 90s-100s every day. We finally got a little rain, but it was just enough to make things humid. Yuck. Just thinking about it makes me sweat. But how do you explain this to a rambunctious one year old who wants to "go go go"? (his words!) How can you recreate the fun of the outdoors in your air conditioned living room? Why, gather all the pillows off your couch and bed and build a mountain of course!!!

Step One:
Pile on the pillows

Step Two:
Climb, jump, roll, etc.

Step Three:
Eye your momma suspiciously... this is supposed to be fun?

Step Four: Realize how much fun it really is and do it again and again!

By the way, clothing is optional for this activity. Diapers? Not optional. :)

Hope you are staying out of the unbearable heat this weekend! Guess there won't be many fireworks around here with the burn ban in place. We leave this afternoon for a family reunion weekend. Happy Fourth of July!
