Ode to Sleep

Oh Sleep, you elusive state
For your beautiful ways, I'll have to wait
I took you for granted in my pre-baby days
Believing you'd never be too far away
And now you've said "No more for you"
And taken the sleeping I need to do
As soon as I think I might catch up
You rob me again and I have to wake up
You're tricky, you see, because just when I drift
There's a knock, or a ring, or a baby to lift
Alas, your trickery seems never to end
Because I should be sleeping now instead of writing this po-em!

Did you write that??? I hope Charlie becomes a better sleeper than Hadley. She is still NOT sleeping through the night. NOw, I know part of it is she is in bed with me...(Okay-maybe the entire reason)...but waking up 2-3 times a night still???? I am anxiously awaiting some good uninterrupted sleep as well....hope we get it soon.
