To Cut or Not to Cut

Apparently we have hair issues at my house...

Before large wind gust:

After large wind gust:
I know, I know... he needs a haircut. But if I cut it, then he'll look like a big boy and I'll have to admit that he really is a big boy that's going to be one in two months!!!! So really, I want to wait until he's one, but should I do it before or after his party....and before or after one year old pictures? I know, of all things to concern myself with, this is hardly a serious issue... but c'mon, its all that precious baby hair... and he worked hard for that stuff! Remember this around 1 month?
So those of you that have any opinion on the issue or had this decision to make with your own kiddo... what do you think?

Oh and one more pic, just because it was funny... sometimes when we're walking I like to pick up those little house flyers in the yard of houses that are for sale... just out of curiosity (we're not planning on moving or anything). So yesterday I gave one to Charlie, and he sat there like this for the rest of the walk "reading" the paper, jabbering the whole way... it was hilarious.

that's so funny how he opened up the flyer to get the full view, of course!.... i love his baby hair!..... maybe if you have any doubts, just wait.....maybe cut it on April 9, so you will always remember the day of his first hair cut.... and then he will be an official big boy 1-yr old!....just some thoughts!.....cute pictures!

i'm the wrong person to ask...Ellie still hasn't had her first hair cut at 16 months....even though i had the same debate with myself about her one year pictures and now she has a full-blown mullet and bangs that tickle her nose....one of these days she'll get a hair cut. :-)

(also, i bet no one really notices but you, so wait as long as you want, imo) :-)

Bethany- I am NOt cutting Rhian Grace's hair until at least April 8, I am more attached to it I think than she is. I to feel like she has worked hard for that hair, and it will make the reality that she is groeing up even that more true!!! I sm sooooo NOT ready for that.

I think since you're sentimental about it, let him keep the hair until the day after his birthday. That way he can have his big boy hairdo for the start of his new year but you won't have to feel like you're making him grow up too soon.

I cut Gavins right before his first birthday party...but if I could do it over again..I would have waited. You could use headbands when it gets in his face like Carly used to do with Rory. ;)

Um... yeah, I definitely waited until after her birthday to cut Ellie's hair for the first time. (Of course it was her third birthday, but same difference, right?)

hey, my niece and nephew didn't have hair until they were almost two!!

i say keep it. let it grow a little longer. before you know it, he'll be finding the scissors and giving himself swanky ramones bangs. ;o)

besides, the longer hair is just too darn cute!!

He will be this age, only once, and I think you should listen to your heart, and keep the baby hair as long as you want to...
